Montague senior Courteney Lohman threw a no-hitter in cold conditions on Tuesday, striking out seven to lead Montague to a 15-2 win over Shelby in the opener of a West Michigan Conference softball doubleheader.

The Wildcats had 13 hits in the contest. Sidney Stine led the way with three hits, including two triples, while Chloe Wynn and Hannah Smith also contributed three hits.

Shelby jumped out to a 3-0 lead in Game 2 on RBI hits by Kasey Morse and Dana Payne. The Tigers extended their lead to 4-3 in the fourth inning before Montague came alive for a 15-4 win and the sweep.

Lohman pitched another win in the nightcap, scattering five hits with seven strikeouts and one walk.

Montague had 18 hits in the game, including 10 extra-base hits.

Alyssa Bobian had a big game at the plate, going 4-for-4 with three doubles, one triple and five RBIs for the Wildcats. Wynn had three more hits, making her 6-for-6 on the day. Smith also collected three more hits and scored four runs.
