The Muskegon Community College baseball team took a pair of games from the Cornerstone University junior varsity squad on Wednesday.

The Jayhawks won the opener 7-6. They scored five runs in the second inning to grab a commanding lead. Cornerstone crept back within one, but left the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh (final) inning.

Cade Cintorino had three hits and scored two runs for MCC, Jarod Wierengo had two hits and Ryan Fields had a three-run triple. Pitcher Dylan Limbacker scattered nine hits over 6 1/3 innings to get the victory while Ryan Fields got the save.

MCC won Game 6-2. The Jayhawks scored two runs in the first inning and three in the sixth to take control.

Ryan Beadle led the way at the plate with two hits and one RBI while Colin McClelland and Carson Hopman each had one hit.

David Ngegy pitched 5 2/3 innings, scattering nine hits and striking out five to get the victory.

The Jayhawks are now 15-16-1 on the season.
