The Whitehall baseball squad swept its doubleheader with North Muskegon on Wednesday evening.

The Vikings (3-1, 2-0) won the opening game 8-0, then defeated the Norse (0-2, 0-2) in the nightcap by a 5-2 margin.

In Game 1 Whitehall’s starting pitcher Casey Huizenga tossed a no-hitting while striking out eight batters. He also doubled and knocked in two runs.

Ethan Shaeffer added two hits and scored three runs for the Vikings while Alec Milliron and Lukas Evans contributed with doubles.

Brighton Schofield took the loss for the Norse.

In Game 2 the Vikings were led by Lukas Evans with a double while Ben VanSumeren pitched the win for Whitehall.

The Norse were paced by Jesse Cooke, Alex Slocum and Schofield with two hits apiece.

North Muskegon pitcher Ryan Kenny took the loss in the nightcap.
