Ali Altland single-handedly prolonged Hart’s season, pitching and hitting the Pirates to a 1-0 win over Pine River in division 3 pre-district action. 
Altland struck out 10 Pine River batters, while giving up three hits and keeping the bases clean with no walks.
On offense, the Pirates had one hit the entire night, and it belonged to Altland. The Hart star singled in the sixth inning, then stole second, before stealing third. When Kari Merten grounded into a fielder’s choice, Altland scampered home to score what would be the winning run.
The Pirates advance to play Mason County Central on Saturday in the district semifinals.
