The West Michigan Whitecaps scored in five different innings on Monday in a 7-2 victory at Peoria.
The Whitecaps improved their record to 20-11 on the season and are a half-game back of first-place Dayton in the Midwest League Eastern Division.
Cam Gibson and Jacob Robson each led the West Michigan offense with three hits.
Gibson added two RBIs and smacked a solo home run.
West Michigan’s starting pitcher Kyle Funkhouser picked up his thrid win of the season, pitching five innings while surrendering one run on three hits and striking out seven Peoria batters.
West Michigan will continue its series at Peoria on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
