The Oakridge softball team earned a spot in this weekend’s Division 2 district tournament by beating Cedar Springs 8-0 on Tuesday in a pre-district matchup.

The Eagles took control of the game with a five-run fourth inning.

Alyssa Fessenden pitched a complete-game shutout for Oakridge, allowing only three hits and striking out 10.

Macy Whipple had two hits and one RBI for the Eagles. Sophia Wiard had a double and two RBIs while Madison Carroll had one hit and one RBI.

Oakridge, now 32-3 on the season, advances to Saturday’s district semifinals against Grant.
