Fruitport baseball team picks up a pair of conference wins over GR Union

The Fruitport baseball team traveled to Grand Rapids on Tuesday and came home with a pair of O-K Black Conference wins over GR Union.

The Trojans took the opener 11-6. Connor Schuitema got the win on the mound and had two hits for Fruitport. Logan Wadland, Jakob Carlisle and Brendan Peterman also had two hits.

Fruitport completed the sweep with a 7-5 victory in Game 2, despite giving up five runs in the second inning. Lucas Kleyn got the win on the mound while Wadland finished the game for a save. Hunter Gannon and Dominic Colegrove each collected two hits for Fruitport.
