A balanced attack helped the Hart softball team complete a two-game sweep of Crossroads Charter Academy in a doubleheader on Monday.

The Pirates won the opening game 7-0, then cruised to a 12-2 win in the nightcap.

Ali Atland was the story in Game 1 for Hart, striking out 14 batters and allowing just one hit.

The Pirates’ offense used a six-run fifth inning to cruise to victory.

Karla Ortega led the way with two hits and two RBIs, while Atland, Nicole Rockwell and Makenzi Michalko each added a hit.

In Game 2 Hart tallied 13 hits in the game, led by Rockwell, Ortega, Michalko, Kasey Unger and Sam Witteveen with two hits apiece.

Witteveen finished with four RBIs, while Unger and Atland each had two RBIs.

Rockwell was the winning pitcher for the Pirates, striking out five and giving up six hits.
