The West Michigan Whitecaps lost 4-2 to Dayton on Monday, making the four game series a split with each team winning twice.

West Michigan is 34-16 on the year and a game ahead of Dayton for first place in the Midwest League Eastern Division.

Josh Lester led the Whitecaps with two hits in the game including a solo home run.

Starting pitcher Eudis Idrogo took the loss, tossing 6 2/3 innings while allowing two earned runs on seven hits.

West Michigan will travel to Midland for a three game series with the Great Lakes Loons beginning on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m.
