Mona Shores and Holton split a non-league softball doubleheader on Friday.

In Game 1 the Sailors prevailed 9-3. Lauren Patterson picked up the win on the mound, striking out two and scattering six hits. Veronica Kastelic led the offense, going 2-for-3 with two home runs and four RBIs. Taylor Dew was 2-for-4 with a solo home run.

Morgan Murat hit a home run and a double for Holton. Emily Larabee had two hits and Alicia Dykman hit a triple.

Holton won the second game 7-6, withstanding a late Mona Shores rally. Haylee Brant picked up the win on the mound for the Red Devils while Emily Larabee and Courtney Slater each had three hits. Shelbey Younts and Mikaela Baker added two hits apiece.

Grace Hall had two hits and four RBIs for Mona Shores. Ryleigh Wehler also had two hits.
