The Montague softball team recovered from an early deficit to beat rival Whitehall and win the championship game of the White Lake Invitational on Saturday.

Whitehall grabbed a 2-0 lead on singles by Katelyn Goodrich and Madison Bond and two Montague throwing errors. But Montague went on to score the next six runs and win the tournament title game 6-2.

Courtney Lohman pitched the victory for the Wildcats, and also had three hits, including a triple and a double. Kat Moreau added two hits for the Wildcats.

Montague beat Mason County Eastern 14-1 in its first game. Alayna Merten was the winning pitcher, scattering four hits and walking only two. Sydney Stine led the offense with three hits and Leah Webber had a two-run homer.

The Wildcats beat White Cloud 15-0 in the second game. Lohman pitched, striking out seven and walking only one. Chloe Wynn had three hits for Montague while Webber hit her second home run of the day.
