The Muskegon Catholic baseball team snuck past Hesperia 4-3 on Tuesday in a Division 4 pre-district contest.

The winning pitcher was Devin Comes, who gave up three runs and six hits in five innings. Riley St. Amour pitched two scoreless innings of relief to notch the save. Both pitchers struck out four.

Bobby Ahern led the Crusaders with three hits while Hai Nguyen added two hits, including a double, and had three RBIs. Mason Convertini knocked in the other Crusader run.

Brendan McAree led Hesperia with three hits, including a double, along with two RBIS and a stolen base. Gage Balkema added two hits for the Panthers, who finished the season with a 19-16 record, and finished in second place in the CSAA Silver Division.

Muskegon Catholic advances to play Walkerville on Saturday in the district semifinals at 10 a.m. at Holton High School. The winner will play in the finals at noon against Holton or Baldwin.
