The Holton softball team slugged their way to a sweep of Central State Activities Association foe Lakeview on Tuesday.

The Red Devils, who are ranked No. 3 in the latest Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association state rankings, won 20-0 in Game 1 and 6-2 in Game 2 to improve their record to 27-6, including 19-1 in conference play.

Makaela Baker picked up the win in the opener with seven strikeouts. Shelbey Younts led the offense with three hits, including a double and a triple. Morgan Murat, Kaylie Piper, Courtney Slater, Machela Ross and Dani Taylor had two hits each.

Haylee Brandt starred in the nightcap. She allowed just one hit to earn the win and added two doubles at the plate. Baker and Murat had two hits each, while Piper and Younts both doubled.
