The North Muskegon baseball squad totaled 23 hits in a doubleheader sweep over Mason County Central on Tuesday in West Michigan Conference play.

The Norse, who improved their record to 12-8 on the season and 6-4 in league play, won the opener by an 8-5 margin, then won the nightcap 10-8.

Jesse Cooke pitched a complete game for North Muskegon in Game 1.

Cooke also scored three runs and blasted his first career varsity home run.

North Muskegon’s Brenden Moat added three hits and two runs scored while Mack Young had two hits and two runs scored.

In Game 2, Ryan Kenny knocked in the game-winning run for the Norse in the seventh inning.

Kenny also earned the win on the mound in relief while Brighton Schofield added three hits and two runs scored.

Moat and Brett Huff chipped in with two hits and two runs scored apiece for North Muskegon.
