The Muskegon Risers couldn’t find the net on Saturday and fell 2-0 to Carpathia FC in a Premier League of America game in Auburn Hills.

A Riser turnover near midfield in the first few minutes of play led to a Carpathia breakaway and goal. The hosts scored their final goal early in the second half on a redirected shot.

Risers marksmen Miguel Flores and Michael Mayberry had several strong scoring opportunities, particularly in the first half, but none resulted in goals.

The Risers fell to 1-1 on the season. They are currently in second place in the PLA East Division, a half-game behind first-place Carpathia and Oakland County FC.

Muskegon will return to action next Sunday on the road against Toledo Villa FC at 7:30 p.m. The Risers are in the middle of a five-game, season-opening road swing, and will have their first home game on June 10.
