Spring Lake girls soccer team overcomes early deficit, defeats Fruitport in non-league action

The Spring Lake girls soccer team overcame an early two-goal deficit, defeating Fruitport 5-2 in a non-league game on Saturday.

The Trojans, who are 13-4 on the season, jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals from Emily Winicki and Jaydie Hanks.

The Lakers scored the next five goals unanswered.

Keara Fritsche and Emily Batts paced Spring Lake with a goal and two assists while Sarah Thornley, Phoebe Saunders and Becca Rush each added a goal.

Laney Peasley chipped in with an assist for the Lakers.
