The Spring Lake softball squad posted a 1-1 record at the Byron Center Blue Chip tournament on Saturday.

The Lakers lost the Game 1 against Grandville 4-0, then bounced back with an 11-5 win over Petoskey in Game 2.

Spring Lake was blanked for the first time with Jenna Core recording the lone hit, which was a double. Leah Vaughn suffered the loss on the mound, allowing six hits while striking out five batters.

The Lakers were paced in Game 2 by Linsey Paggeot with five hits, including four doubles, and four runs scored.

Madelyn Nelson added four hits and five RBIs for Spring Lake while Ann Marie Galloway chipped in with three hits.

Lauren Somers tossed the win for the Lakers, striking out seven.

The Lakers are now 26-3 on the season.
