The undefeated Mona Shores girls’ soccer team beat Grand Rapids Union 8-0 on Tuesday and clinched the O-K Black Conference championship.

Sarah Mikesell led the Sailors’ attack with three goals, Raegan Cox added two and Haley Gartland, Nora Brown and Mieke Hart each scored once. Cox also had four assists in the contest. Brown, Erin Powers, Mal Meston and Peyton Erndteman had single assists.

Goalkeeper Megan Swanker got her 13th save of the season to add on to her single-season school record.

Mikesell now has 31 goals, setting a new single-season school record. Cox has 24 assists, which is also a new single-season school record.

Mona Shores is now 17-0 overall and 11-0 in the conference.
