The West Michigan Whitecaps were unable to hold on to an early 1-0 lead on Tuesday night, eventually falling 3-1 in a road game against Peoria.

West Michigan falls to 20-12 on the season and remains in second place of the Midwest League Eastern Division.

Blaise Salter led off the second inning with a double and later came around to score the lone Whitecaps run when Josh Lester grounded out.

Salter had the lone two hits for West Michigan. Relief pitcher Locke St. John took the loss, surrendering two runs on three hits in one inning of work.

West Michigan will close out its series at Peoria on Wednesday at noon.
