The Montague baseball team took home a Division 3 district title on Saturday, defeating North Muskegon 2-0 in the finals.

The Wildcats will travel to Morley Stanwood next Saturday for a regional semifinal against Grand Rapids West Catholic.

Luke Marsh picked up the championship win on the mound for the Wildcats, allowing three hits and striking out three in six innings.

Freshmen Johnny Monette hit a two-out, two-strike pitch down the first base line in the fourth inning to score the lone two runs in the game.

Monette finished with two doubles for the Wildcats while Dalton Fuller had two hits for North Muskegon in the final.

Montague advanced to the finals on Saturday by defeating Ravenna 9-0 in the semifinals behind a complete game win for Dylan Stever, who struck out seven.

Stever also had three hit of his own and one RBI while Josh Weesies scored four runs.

North Muskegon advanced to the finals by defeating Western Michigan Christian 3-2 earlier in the day.

Three first inning runs were the difference for North Muskegon.

Dalton Fuller singled with the bases loaded for the Norse, while Jimmy Cobb followed with a bases loaded walk and Brighton Schofield then scored on a wild pitch.
