The West Michigan Whitecaps snapped their two game losing streak with a 9-2 home victory over Great Lakes on Wednesday night.

Josh Lester and Danny Woodrow each led West Michigan with three hits on the night while Blaise Salter had two hits and three RBIs. Salter had a RBI double and a home run on the night.

Whitecaps starter Anthony Castro picked up the win while pitching seven innings and surrendering two runs on seven hits. Catro is now 5-1 on the year and maintains a 2.60 ERA.

With the win, West Michigan is now three games ahead of Dayton for first place in the Midwest League Eastern Division with 11 games left in the first half.

West Michigan will close out its home series with Great Lakes on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Earlier in the day six Whitecaps were selected to represent West Michigan on the Midwest League Eastern All-star team on June 20 in Midland. Those selected were Salter, Jacob Robson, Lester, Austin Sodders, Gregory Soto and Jason Foley.
