The West Michigan Whitecaps offense scraped across only two runs on Saturday night, but it was more than enough for their fourth straight victory, defeating Lake County 2-0.

The Whitecaps are now 13-4 to start the second half and 58-26 overall.

Second baseman David Gonzalez scored Cole Bauml in the third inning on a sacrifice fly, and drove home Austin Athmann on a single in the fourth inning for the lone runs.

Starting pitcher Tom de Blok picked up his first win in his third start with West Michigan. De Block tossed six innings of three hit ball while striking out eight batters. His ERA is now 1.11 on the season.

Reliever John Schreiber picked up his fourth save on the year with a clean ninth inning including one strikeout.

Gonzalez and Anthony Pereira led the Whitecap offense with two hits each.

West Michigan will continue its series with Lake County on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
