The West Michigan Whitecaps snapped a two game losing streak with a 6-5 victory over Lansing on Wednesday.

West Michigan is 10-4 in the second half and 55-26 overall on the season.

Zac Shepherd and Cole Bauml each had two RBIs to lead the West Michigan offense. Bauml had three hits including two doubles while Austin Athmann added three hits including one double and one RBI of his own.

Starting pitcher Alfred Gutierrez picked up his seventh win of the season, tossing five inning while surrendering five runs on seven hits. Reliever Eduardo Jimenez picked up his second save, striking out one batter in 1 and 1/3 innings.

West Michigan will close out its series at Lansing on Thursday at 7:05 p.m.
