The Grand Haven volleyball team posted a 3-2 record on Tuesday at their annual Early Season invitational.

The Buccaneers went 1-2 in pool play after defeating Portage Northern and falling to Lapeer and Mona Shores.

Grand Haven closed out the tournament strong with wins over Holland and Portage Northern in the silver bracket.

Olivia Boeve paced the Buccaneers with 37 kills and 41 digs while Avery Strohmeyer added 12 blocks and 15 kills.

Grand Haven’s Ashley Slater contributed with 23 kills and four blocks and Baby Hang helped out defensively with 37 digs.

Ashlyn Hall chipped in with 56 assists for the Buccaneers.

Mona Shores also posted a 3-2 record with wins over Grand Haven, Lapeer and Portage Northern.

The Sailors fell to Lapeer in pool play and Mattawan in the gold bracket.

Mona Shores has an 8-3 record on the season.

The Sailors were paced by Grace Hellman 25 kills while Sasha Poland added 84 digs and six aces.

Suriya VanderOord chipped in with 46 assists for Mona Shores and Emma Lynn had six aces.
