The Hesperia volleyball team rallied and beat Oakridge 18-25, 25-22, 15-11 in the championship match of the Holton Invitational on Saturday.

The Panthers beat Oakridge in the first round of play in three sets, then defeated Holton and Newaygo to qualify for the finals.

The Panther attack was led by Alyssa Miller with 16 kills and Delaney Hussey with 15. Kyra Sayer had 10 service points, including five aces, and Cara Frees added 13 points with four aces.

Sayer also had 25 assists while Emily Bayle chipped in 24 digs and Ally Bayle had seven blocks.

Western Michigan Christian finished fourth in the tournament, beating Muskegon twice and Holton once and losing to Newaygo and Oakridge.

Anna Sytsema had 25 kills for the Warriors, Chloe Mitchell and Abby Summerfield served 10 aces apiece, Mitchell had 82 assists, Meghan Heiss contributed 40 digs and Aubrey Goorman had eight blocks.
