The Montague football team cruised past Shelby 76-0 in a West Michigan Conference opener on Thursday night. 

The Wildcats jumped out to a 28-0 lead after the first quarter and led 62-0 at the halftime break.

Bryce Stark accounted for three touchdowns on the evening (two rushing, one defensive), while Sebastian Archer also found the end zone on three occasions (two rushing, one receiving).

The Wildcats also scored on rushes by Jake Jancek, Kenyan Johnston, Samuel Shugars, Blake Jones and Cameron Tanner while quarterback Nick Stever threw for one score.

Montague, which is now 2-0 on the season, will travel to Mason County Central next week while Shelby will look for its first win of the season against Oakridge.
