The Spring Lake volleyball team captured the NorthPointe Christian tournament on Tuesday, posting a 6-0 record.

The Lakers defeated Western Michigan Christian 2-1 in the championship match after looking unbeatable with two-set sweeps over Lansing Christian, GR Christian Union, Orchard View, WMC, and Greenville.

Jencen Sabo paced Spring Lake in kills with 34 while Jenna Core had 26.

Core also posted 11 blocks and five aces during the tournament and Kam Lewkowski served up 18 aces.

Madeline Zenas chipped in with 106 assists for the Lakers.

West Michigan Christian finished in second place with a 4-2 record.

The Warriors defeated Grand Rapids Union, Lansing Christian, Grand Rapids Prep and NorthPointe Christian.

WMC fell to Spring Lake twice, including in the championship set.

The Warriors were led offensively by Madison Heiss with 32 kills, Rebecca TeHaar with nine aces, and Chloe Mitchell with 102 assists.

Meghan Heiss put up team leading defensive numbers for WMC with 32 digs and four blocks.
