The Fruitport boys’ cross country team competed against 10 schools at the Fremont Hill and Bale Invitational on Saturday. The team finished second behind Fremont.

Placing for the Trojans was Cameron Oleen, who finished fourth with a time of 17:14. Other top Fruitport runners were Brendan Deneen (17:54), Jon Wildey (19:01), Peyton Sharlow (19:18) and Cameron Weaver (19:24).

Sailors take second place

The Mona Shores boys’ cross country team finished second at the Mason County Central Invitational on Saturday.

Earning medals for the Sailors were Nick Dennison, Cade Poland, Nate Clark, Hayden Helmer, Will Urban, Nolan Duff, Isaac Powell and Noah Kinnucan.

The Mona Shores squad has won two invitational trophies so far this season.
