Jayhawks volleyball team struggles at Owens tournament, posting a 1-3 record

The Muskegon Community College volleyball team went 1-3 over the weekend at the Owens Invitational.

The Jayhawks dropped both of their matches on the first day of the tournament. Catawba Valley took three out of four sets (25-14, 23-25, 25-20,25-20) from the Jayhawks. Vincennes took all three sets (25-13, 25-22, 25-13).

MCC went 1-1 on the final day. The Jayhawks took all three sets from Macomb Community College (25-6, 25-10, 25-19), earning their first win in the tournament. They ended the invitational by losing all three sets to Illinois Central (25-20, 25-13, 25-17).

Robbie Berg finished the weekend with a team-leading 30 kills for the Jayhawks. Katie Veihl led the team with 80 assists and Kennedi served seven aces.
