The Spring Lake football squad faced a tall task against a defending state champion on Friday night.
In the end the Lakers came up short, losing 47-0 to Grand Rapids Catholic Central in an O-K Blue Conference game.
The Lakers, who committed six turnovers in the game, trailed 27-0 after the first quarter and 40-0 at halftime.
Spring Lake is now 0-5 on the season and will face Coopersville on the road next Friday.
