The Muskegon Lumberjacks opened the 2017-18 season with a tough 1-0 loss to the Lincoln Stars on Friday.

Lincoln goalie Tomas Vomacka frustrated the Lumberjacks in net, stopping all 32 Muskegon shots to earn the shutout win.

Muskegon goaltender Adam Brizgala suffered the tough loss, allowing  just one goal on 37 total shots faced.

Both teams failed to score until the 9:58 mark of the third period, when Devlin McCabe scored on a penalty shot for the only goal of the night.

Muskegon will conclude its short road trip on Saturday night against the Des Moines Buccaneers. Faceoff is slated for 8:05 p.m. EST.

The Lumberjacks’ home opener will be next Friday against the Chicago Steel at 7:15 p.m.
