The Muskegon Catholic Central football squad  dominated Manistee in a Lakes 8 game Friday night, winning 42-6 to remain unbeaten on the season.

The Crusaders, now 6-0 on the season, scored all 42 of their points in the first half.

The rout was  kick-started by Jackson Riegler’s 44-yard rushing touchdown early in the first quarter. Riley St. Amour added a 10-yard run just minutes later to increase the Crusaders’ lead to 13-0.

Riegler scored his second touchdown of the game to give MCC a 20-0 lead on a nine-yard rush.

The Crusaders increased their lead to 35-0 on two touchdowns by quarterback Cameron Martinez, from 60 and 50 yards, respectively.

MCC running back Dawson Steigman closed the first half scoring with a seven-yard rush to put the Crusaders up 42-0 at the half.

Manistee scored its lone touchdown in the fourth quarter on a three-yard rushing touchdown by Anderson Johns.

Martinez led the Crusaders in rushing with 129 yards on six attempts, with two touchdowns. Riegler added 59 yards rushing on two attempts and two touchdowns.

Isaias Reyes led the MCC defense with seven tackles and one forced fumble recovery.

Manistee was led by halfback Bryson Jensen with 70 yards on 14 attempts while Johns rushed for 56 yards on 11 attempts.

Defensively, the Chippewas were led by Jensen with eight tackles.
