Muskegon Catholic volleyball plows through Class D district semifinals

The Muskegon Catholic volleyball team dominated Muskegon Heights in the semifinals of the Class D district tournament at Fruitport Calvary Christian on Wednesday night.

Muskegon Catholic won in three sets with scores of 25-2, 25-9, and 25-2.

Zoie Price and Kyra Tyler led the Crusaders with a team-high six kills and Amelia Heminger served 20 aces.

Muskegon Catholic’s Lauren Doriot reached a career milestone in the match. She had four kills to reach the 500 career mark, and also contributed six digs.

The Crusaders will face the winner of the Fruitport Calvary/Kent City Algoma Christian matchup in the Class D finals Friday night at 6:30 p.m.
