The Ludington girls basketball squad overcame a fourth quarter deficit to defeat Shelby 48-41 on Tuesday in its season opener.

The Orioles (1-0) trailed 10-8 after the first quarter, 24-19 at halftime and 33-26 after three quarters before closing the game out with a 22-8 fourth quarter run.

Mackenzie Luce paced Ludington with 12 points and five steals while Mackenzie Howe added 12 points and seven rebounds.

The Orioles were also led by Lindsey Holmes with nine points and Katie Mesyar with seven points and four steals.
