The Spring Lake girls basketball squad clipped Shelby 35-33 on Tuesday night in a non-league contest.

The Lakers jumped out to a 13-6 lead after the first quarter, led 22-16 at halftime and had a slim 30-27 advantage heading into the final stanza.

Linsey Paggeot led Spring Lake with 18 points, while Madeline Zenas added 10 points and had 10 rebounds. Jenna Core chipped in with nine rebounds.

The Tigers outscored Spring Lake by a 6-5 margin in the fourth quarter, but failed to complete a comeback.

Jenny Beckman led Shelby with 16 points and six rebounds while Tori Mussell added eight points.

FRUITPORT CALVARY 76, HESPERIA 25 – Kelsey Richards paced the Eagles (4-2) with 34 points in a blowout victory while adding 17 rebounds and seven assists. Bree Johnson added a double-double, scoring 10 points while grabbing 11 rebounds, while Lizzie Cammenga finished with 14 points. Emily Bayle had 11 points for Hesperia.

LUDINGTON 35, TRAVERSE CITY CENTRAL 23 – A 15-point third quarter sealed a road victory for the Orioles. Lindsay Holmes led Ludington with nine points while Mackenzie Howe added eight.

COMSTOCK PARK 64, KENT CITY 63 – The Eagles 53-47 advantage was not enough as Comstock Park closed the game on a 17-10 fourth quarter run to earn a one-point victory.  Kenzie Bowers led Kent City (4-2) with 28 points while Zara Weber added 25. Comstock Park nailed the win with two free throws with less than 10 seconds remaining in regulation.

FREMONT 59, ORCHARD VIEW 13 – The Packers (4-2) jumped out to a 15-6 lead after the first, led 33-10 at halftime and had a 48-13 advantage through three. Calla Miller paced Fremont with 18 points and five steals while Natalie Jamieson added 15 points, 14 rebounds and five steals. Anna Patenge chipped in with 10 points for the Packers.
