The West Michigan Lake Hawks couldn’t withstand a second-half rally by the  Chicago Fury in their 124-119 loss Saturday night at Reeths-Puffer High School.

After taking a 31-21 first-quarter lead and a 60-49 halftime edge, the Lake Hawks could not match Chicago’s 75 second-half points.

Marquis Brewer paced West Michigan with 23 points and five assists while Xavier Fletcher had 22 points. Otis Smith tallied a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Deontae Hudson powered through with 13 points and five assists while Terry Walker added 12 points and Antony McDaniel chipped in 11.

The Lake Hawks will play again at home on Sunday at 5 p.m. at Reeths-Puffer.
