The Western Michigan Christian girls basketball team let a big first-quarter lead get away and lost a nail-biter, 49-46, to Calvin Christian in non-league action on Tuesday.

WMC had a commanding 19-7 lead after one quarter, then Calvin bounced back with a 21-9 edge in the second, leaving the score tied 28-28 at halftime.

The Warriors led by three after three quarters, but Calvin pulled out the win with a 16-10 edge in the fourth.

Aubrey Goorman paced WMC with 12 points and 12 rebounds, Madison Heiss had 11 points while Anna Sytsema collected eight points and 15 rebounds.

Grace Van Namen had 14 points for Calvin.
