The Mason County Central girls basketball squad overcame a six-point fourth quarter deficit to defeat Whitehall 46-41 on Friday in a West Michigan Conference game.

The Spartans outscored Whitehall 19-8 during the fourth quarter after trailing 33-27 after three quarters.

Rachel Allen paced Mason County Central with 20 points, including 11 in the fourth, while Madisen Bennett added eight.

The Vikings were led by Sierra Spann with eight points and seven rebounds.

HART 44, MONTAGUE 36 – The Pirates outscored Montague 26-20 in the second half to pick up a West Michigan Conference victory. Hart (2-0, 1-0) was led by Yasmine Colon with 17 points while Tressa Swihart added nine points. Montague (1-1, 0-1) was paced by Kat Moreau with 11 points and Grace Meacham with 10.

SHELBY 57, RAVENNA 38 – Jenny Beckman’s 35 point, four-steal performance led the Tigers to a West Michigan Conference win over Ravenna. Shelby (1-1, 1-0) led 24-9 after the first quarter, 32-18 at halftime and 51-24 after the third stanza. Tori Mussell added 12 points, 13 rebounds and four steals for the Tigers while Jaren Smith chipped in with six points and six assists.

OAKRIDGE 62, NORTH MUSKEGON 25 – Junior guard Sophia Wiard scored 27 points to lead the Eagles to a West Michigan Conference victory on Friday. Oakridge (2-0, 1-0) jumped out to a 20-4 advantage after the first quarter, held a 43-11 lead at halftime and had a 57-17 advantage after three quarters. Jenna Lowry, Kyla Stewart, and Aaliyah Cooper each added eight points for the Eagles.
