The Muskegon Big Reds overcame a second-half scare and downed Grand Rapids Union 51-42 in an O-K Black Conference game on Friday.

The Big Reds jumped out to an 11-6 lead after the first quarter and led 26-20 at the half.

Union cut the Big Red lead to just one at the end of the third quarter, but Muskegon pulled away in the fourth quarter.

Muskegon’s Clinton Jefferson Jr. led all scorers with 16 points. DeAndre Carter Jr. had 14 points, while Willie Shanks Jr. added 10.
