A 20-14 fourth quarter run propelled the Shelby girls basketball team to a 57-50 win over Mason County Central in a West Michigan Conference game on Tuesday night.

The Tigers were paced by Jenny Beckman with 23 points and four rebounds.

Shelby trailed 28-27 at halftime and led 37-36 after three quarters before closing out the game strong.

The Tigers, who are now 6-3 on the season and 5-1 in league play, made 19 of their 25 free throws throughout the contest.

The Spartans (5-3, 4-2) were led by Rachel Allen with 18 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two assists.


MONTAGUE 44, NORTH MUSKEGON 26- 
Led by Grace Meacham’s double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds, the Wildcats were able to roll over the North Muskegon for their second conference victory of the season. Montague overcame a slow start, outscoring the Norse by a 29-10 margin during the second and third quarters combined. The Wildcats (4-4, 2-3) also received a strong contribution from Braquelle Osborne with seven points, four assists and five rebounds. North Muskegon (1-6, 0-5) was led by Chandler Falkowski with seven points.

WHITEHALL 43, HART 26 – The Vikings defense held Hart scoreless during the second quarter. Whitehall led 10-7 after the first quarter,15-7 at the half and 27-19 through three stanzas. The Vikings pulled away in the fourth with a 16-7 run. Greta Hosticka led Whitehall (6-2, 3-2) with 13 points and four assists, while Sierra Spann grabbed 14 rebounds. The Pirates were led by Yasmine Colon with 11 points.

OAKRIDGE 53, RAVENNA 19- The Eagles (5-3, 3-0) were led by Sophia Wiard with 18 points and four assists. The Bulldogs (1-8, 0-5) were paced by Jessica McWatters with 13 points.
