Anthony Del Gaizo scored twice on Friday to power the Muskegon Lumberjacks to an historic victory.

The Lumberjacks defeated Dubuque on the road 3-2 for their seventh straight win. The victory broke the team’s consecutive win  record of six, which dated back to the 2013-14 season.

The Lumberjacks built a 3-0 lead after two periods, and held on as the Fighting Saints cut the lead to one in the final period.

Del Gaizo started the scoring with a goal seven minutes into the first period.

Monte Graham’s goal five minutes into the second period gave Muskegon a 2-0 lead, and Del Gaizo netted his second goal of the night, and 15th of the season, 2:31 later.

Marc Del Gaizo had two assists on the night for the Lumberjacks. Muskegon Goalie Keegan Karki finished with 19 saves. Each team had 21 shots.

The two teams will play again in Dubuque on Saturday night.
