Sam Johnson scored a team-high 20 points to lead the Spring Lake boys basketball team to an easy 83-45 O-K Blue Conference victory over Grand Rapids West Catholic on Tuesday.

Spring Lake (11-2, 5-1) scored at least 20 points in each quarter and led 43-20 at the half.

Jack VanWingen added 16 points for the Lakers while Kyle Wiersma chipped in with 15. Blayne Willett contributed six points and five rebounds off the bench.

REETHS-PUFFER 51, FRUITPORT 26 – Reeths-Puffer tightened up defensively after the first quarter to pick up an O-K Black victory. The game was tied at 14 at the end of the first, but the Rockets outscored Fruitport 37-12 the rest of the way. Emcee Williams led R-P with 14 points. The Rockets are now 5-7 overall and 2-4 in conference play.

GRAND RAPIDS UNION 50, MONA SHORES 39 – The Sailors failed to extend their four-game winning streak, but Jarvis Walker continued his great stretch by scoring 17 points and grabbing six rebounds. Mona Shores (4-6, 3-2) led 12-8 at the end of the first quarter, but Union went on a run in the second quarter and led 24-21 at the half. The Red Hawks increased their lead to six by the end of the third quarter, and eliminated any hopes of a Mona Shores comeback early in the fourth. James Gilbert added six points for the Sailors.
