A big second half propelled the Shelby boys basketball team to a 62-40 victory over rival Hart on Thursday in a West Michigan Conference game.

The Tigers led 10-9 after one quarter and 24-19 at halftime, then pulled away with a 21-7 advantage in the third quarter.

Tyler Schouten and Tristan Landis each scored 17 points for Shelby while Logan Claeys added 10. Kristian Oberlin snagged nine rebounds and had five assists, while Schouten also dished out five assists.

Shelby had a season-high 18 assists and a season-low 12 turnovers.

Dustin Klotz led Hart with nine points. Alec Kempker and Ayden Beachum each added eight.
