A 25-12 fourth quarter tear propelled Mason County Central girls basketball squad to a close 44-42 win over Whitehall on Thursday in a West Michigan Conference game.

The Spartans, who are now 8-3 on the season and 5-2 in league play, were led by Maddy Bladzik with 13 points and five rebounds, while Madisen Bennett added 11 points and six rebounds and Kelsey Kosiboski chipped in with nine points and four rebounds.

MCC trailed 15-8 after the first quarter, 15-12 at halftime and 30-19 heading into the final stanza.

The Vikings were led by Kacy Jeffries with 13 points while Abby Seeger added eight points and 13 rebounds.
