The Whitehall boys needed overtime to defeat Mason County Central 54-47 on Thursday night in West Michigan Conference play.

The Vikings trailed 10-6 after the first quarter and 22-21 at halftime before taking a 33-29 advantage heading into the final stanza.

The Spartans outscored Whitehall by an 18-14 margin during the fourth quarter to force an extra quarter.

Whitehall’s defensed blanked the Spartans in overtime as the Vikings went on a 7-0 extra session run.

The Vikings were led by Ethan McKenzie with 13 points, while Terrell Harris added 10 points and Brandon Rake chipped in with seven points and eight rebounds.

Mason County Central was paced by Tyler Bromley with a game-high 20 points while Carrier contributed with seven.
