The Muskegon Big Reds used a strong second half and overtime to top a tough Belleville team, 55-50 on Saturday in a non-league boys basketball matchup.

The host Big Reds overcame an 18-15 first half deficit and outscored Belleville 31-28 in the second half to force OT. In the extra period, Muskegon edged out the Tigers, 9-4.

Eonte Tornes led Muskegon with a team-high 19 points while Willie Shanks scored 14 points,grabbed nine rebounds and had two assists.

Muskegon’s Clinton Jefferson Jr. added nine points and Edriese Jenkins chipped in seven.

The Big Reds (15-3) shot 16 of 20 from the free-throw line to make up for a tough offensive night from the floor, where they shot just 31 percent.
