Shelby cruises past Hesperia, Beckman scores 34 points

The Shelby girls basketball team rolled past Hesperia 72-33 on Tuesday in a non-conference matchup.

The Tigers jumped out to a 33-5 first quarter lead and led 46-15 by halftime.

Shelby’s Jenny Beckman led all scores with 34 points and had seven steals and two assists. Tori Mussell scored 19 points and had 17 rebounds, four assists and three steals while Jaren Smith added 10 points and four assists.

Hesperia (5-14, 1-8) was led by Emily Bayle with 15 points, Allison Bayle added 11 points and Clare Rumsey chipped in seven points and seven rebounds.
