Sophia Wiard propels Oakridge over Spring Lake in Class B district semifinals

The Oakridge girls basketball team defeated Spring Lake 46-33 in a class B district semifinal matchup on Wednesday night.

The Eagles jumped out to an 18-9 lead after the first quarter and led 29-18 at halftime. Oakridge put the game out of reach during the third quarter and led 40-23 heading into the final quarter.

Sophia Wiard paced the Eagles with 22 points and eight rebounds, while Alliyah Cooper added 11 points.

Spring Lake was led by Madeline Zenas with 24 points.

Oakridge will face Montague on Friday in the Class B district finals.
