Alyza Winston set a career milestone on Monday when the Muskegon Big Reds topped host Grand Rapids Union 68-41. 

Winston, a junior guard for Muskegon, scored her 1,000th career point in the win. Winston also finished with a game-high 26 points along with 10 assists and three steals in the O-K Black win.

The Big Reds jumped to a 14-7 first quarter lead and led 39-20 by halftime. Muskegon’s defense stepped up in the third quarter, holding Union to just five points.

De’shonna Day scored a season-high 18 points and had three steals and Daz’sha Day chipped in 12 points.
