The Ludington boys basketball season came to a disappointing end on Monday with a 55-44 loss to Boyne City in a Class B regional semifinal game.

The Orioles, who were state finalists last season, jumped out to an 18-4 lead after the first quarter and led 23-14 at halftime.

Boyne City came back strong after the break, outscoring Ludington by a 23-9 margin in the third quarter to take a 37-32 advantage heading into the final stanza.

The Orioles, who finished their season with a 17-7 record, were led by Josh Laman and Will Sadler with 14 points each.
